Hi guys, welcome to Grace College's YouTube channel. Today, we're answering the age old question, "What's the best ice cream around Grace College?" Let's meet the judges. Our first judge is a recent Grace College grad, first-year ARD, and a Winona Lake native.

Meet Bailey Gagnant. Our next judge is beta resident turned beta RD Gershom Tadase. Last but certainly not least, our final judge is a Grace Legend. We all know and love her Dr. Laurie Owen. Today, our judges will be rating each location based on five categories: taste, consistency, ambiance, location, and the X Factor. Our first stop is that Botanas Locas. This ice cream shop is located just a few miles off campus and is locally owned.

We might need just a second. This is so good. Very expressive faces.

You know, fruit and chocolate. I've always kind of been hesitant. It's not bad.

There's chunks of chocolate. I like that better than the blueberry...

Our next stop is Dairy Queen. This Dairy Queen is conveniently located right off campus and offers Grace discounts.

You remember. Keep doing that.

I love cheap ice cream. It's so good!

Our third location is a Winona Lake classic, Kelainey's. It's located right down the hill from campus.

Cheers!

Our final stop is Ritter's. Ritter's is located a few miles off campus and offers a Grace discount.

I was surprised by the amount of rich chocolate, true chocolate in our chocolate chunk blueberry. Big fan of the soft serve twist cone.

Yeah, I would say it's a mediocrity and it's finest. I wasn't impressed.

It's classic. I mean, it's ice cream. It's good. Rich. There's anything science like... if you're looking for a scoop of ice cream you're gonna find exactly what you're looking for. It's cold.

Yeah, I think that was the best part. It was cold and nothing special. It felt very West Coast. It felt like I was like, "Am I in LA or Warsaw?" Once I was in the building outside after not know what's your insect like

"Fast food slightly dated?" ambiance."

Colors like in a vintage cute way or just if you went today?

I don't be dramatic. I do feel despair when I'm in despair just like it feels like yeah. As an ice cream, this feels like just like...

How is your ultimate ice cream sweet shop.

Smells so good.

Inside and that AC is right with the colors. I love the colors.

They're They're soft that you just feel relaxed and it's very ice cream decor.

But like, "Sorry, you would go after your mom took you to the public pool day. Like you load up in the Suburban and drive to Ritters and she would kick you out so you could drive on the concrete and eat like a scoop of custard?" Like that was how I felt.

Well, normally, I would say that I'm the soft serve kind of person but I think because of that chunk. You know when that it was it added something to it. So that ice cream with the crunch really made the difference. That was the chocolate.

I will say I think Dairy Queen is the best soft serve. It's not too liquidity. It doesn't melt too fast. It's like kind of fluffy. Like they get they do when they like put on the cone. It's not like the classic swirl. It's like the Dairy Queen like cone.

I did I picked up a little ice, Chris, didn't we talk about that a little bit?

Feel free to burn.

Just a little. It's good. It's good. I think there's a reputation at play with that spot and maybe they can get a little overconfident that I don't know what the opposite of consistency would be intended to be opposite anti-consistency?

It was... there was no consisty. It was the closest thing to a brain freeze out of all the ice cream that's like I thought that was that was very cool.

Oh yeah, I think out of all the places it would be the most cost effective to go to based on what we found out today. Aren't we surprised by that?

Yeah, I would say it's a bit pricey for being pretty mediocre.

If you like blizzards, any type of Blizzard is buy one, get one free with a Grace ID.

I mean in this economy? Absolutely not.

Absolutely. I think we know that. It's hard to sit the $5 minimum, you have to spend at least $5 to use a credit card. Which is like if you go to the people and you have like Venmo or like the ability to pay each other money. Like that's a little bit better, but still trying to finagle that [inaudible]. Regularly, it's like $4.95 like for anything that would be on like a scoop of custard, something like that.

We call that... we call that, "highway robbery."

I believe so.

Oh, yes. She made it. She made the X Factor.

Yes, yes!

The owner... it was... it felt like you were kind of in her kitchen trying something that she is personally owning and proud of it was a very different feel.

What do you think?

Absolutely not.

It is the Q factor? Yeah, the DQ factor.

I would say absolutely. Always, it's the ultimate win.

I'm gonna say no.

I don't even know why I'm pausing. Absolutely not.

I'm not I'm not sure. Like it has some kind... It has some flutter factor. I don't know if it's the Ritter... if it's the X Factor or not... It's not the DQ factor.

What do we give Botanas Locas? Let's see. Final score. What is it? Let's see it. 3... 1... 2. All right, let's see what you got. 4... 5... 3.2. Okay. All right. Let's see the Ritters final score. 3.78...
